In May 2025, IUCN and associated experts, in cooperation with Natural Mineral Waters Europe (NMWE), published a set of recommendations to support structured biodiversity action in the natural mineral water sector.

The document provides a practical framework for companies and associations seeking to strengthen action on biodiversity and healthy water cycles in and around their natural mineral water catchments.

The Recommendations are designed to be applicable across different site contexts and levels of experience, while maintaining methodological consistency.

How it works: The Four-Step Framework

Choose appropriate indicators to track progress and ensure meaningful monitoring.

Implement actions, monitor outcomes and adjust the strategy as needed over time.
